Series: R.C.M.P. Who do they Work for? Our Series, contemplates the use of legal enforcement throughout Rural Areas. We mean to target areas that use the excuse that not enough manpower is on hand, therefore more serious crimes go unattended. Rural County RCMP Stations, are few and far between. In most rural counties, the R.C.M.P. Stations are centered to accomodate vaster areas. Now depending on the general locality and property value of the area (otherwords tax levels), insufficient funding is the reason that policing cannot be accomodated by a larger police force. Depending on the crime activity of the area, it can leave Officers scattered and over-worked. Depending on the shift's activity, Constables decide what is priority and what can be left unattended. In reality, this puts alot of responsibilty on their backs, but it also gives them alot of power. This is where problems arise, as there is a tendancy to overlook certain situations and turn a blind eye. We know of a life threatening situation, where threats were made in front of a Constable, that were later carried out by six individuals and the RCMP showed up 90 minutes after the fact and no arrests were made, even though there were weapons involved and the Constable knew exactly who the individuals were. We know of another incident where a home was being broken into, items being rummaged through, furniture being urinated on and the RCMP showed up the next day and no arrests were made. In this incident, photos were taken of the intruders by two witnesses who happened upon the scene, but again, favoritism played a major role. We've taken a look at Geraldton Ontario, where there is an RCMP Station in Town and we've compared it to Vulcan County Alberta, where the population ranges about the same and there is also an RCMP Station in Town. Geraldton's Population ranges close to 3,000 and Vulcan's is approximately the same. Geraldton's RCMP Station obtains 18 Constables and Vulcan's RCMP Station has Five Constables. With Five Constables, many unjustices are overlooked and many lean towards favoritism. It depends who you know. When contemplating Tax Brackets, we were left to wonder just how many Constables are required per district, population or square miles-kilometers. When inquiring, we were told, that all depending on the specific area's requirements, those are the services that are met. Well, it is the politically correct thing to say, but not necessarily the truth. It's a rather scary thought that when one's life is in danger, you may have to wait up to three hours for a Constable, or even until the next day, when someone can make it around, especially when the Station is but 20 kms away! We know for fact that sound community leadership denotes public services required. We know that corrupt leadership denotes repressed communities, therefore the verdict appears quite simple, however in a world of politics, it's a simple play of words and again, WHO you know. In areas where crimes are on the rise, the politically correct thing to do, is to enlarge your Police Force and NOT your Office. Where Crime is on the rise and your Constables are telling Tax Payers that they cannot do their job in an appropriate manner because of the lack of Manpower, it's high time to replace the lack of Leadership with the Manpower that can do the job! Poor Leadership, strips a Community of it's rightful benefits and poor leadership, ignores the Community's needs. Areas that strive for betterment, usually derive a better standard of living, but areas that are centered around a certain click, are always in need of financial assistance. "How's that" you ask. The answer is quite common. Areas that require constant financing, often enough with hold leadership that beautifies their personal surroundings and not that of the Community. Mis-management of Funds is the correct term. (embezzlement, fraudulant activity, greed, power - whoops did i say that!) Areas that use Grants, encourage Self-Employment, assist in financing or avenues for successful and healthy progress, usually are the areas that hold or grow their property value. These types of Communities are the ones that get their homeless off the streets, set examples to their youth and offer hope for tomorrow. These types of Communities attain the appropriate tax funds basically required to keep up to the growth in their area. Areas that grow but find more and more of it's residents at the Food Bank or the Welfare Office are already on the brink of devestation. Worse yet, when funding is not placed into social programs to improve residency standards, employment needs and education, but spend their funds on enlarging Town Hall and laying new carpets in the office, are generally heading for big trouble. Then to double the trouble, the ones who end up footing the bill for their leadership's mis-management of funds is again the already stressed and rather poor, Tax Payer! Throughout our series, we mean to point out to our Federal and Provincial Governments, that smaller rural governments need to be watched over, guided, educated and upgraded. They should be annually audited for placement of Funds and Taxes. They should have to attend Updating Courses and have Marketing Counsellors on hand to discuss Human Resources, Business and Economy. Otherwords what works and what doesn't. Politicians are paid to do a Job. Tax Payers pay the Politicians. We give them a Job, they don't give us jobs and if they assist in establishing Industry that creates Jobs for the Tax Payers, then the Politician is doing what he is paid to do. It's as simple as that! If the Politician is not a benefit to the Social establishment of the Community as a whole, then the Politician should be held accountable by replacing the funds. Hey-Hey, now that would sure stop alot of corruption now wouldn't it? It's fine and dandy to allow communties jurisdiction over their funding, as long as the funding is appropriately placed into the neccessities of the community. When this is not the case, the big guys should step in and hold the one responsible for the misappropriation with legal charges. It is in fact a Crime against society! We pay taxes on the basis it betters our life, our community and our standards of living. As Tax Payers, we are suppose to receive services for the monies we are paying, yet more and more all we get is a play of words and beaurocratic B.S., even from the RCMP! Our next edition follows a story of NewComers that went to reside in a rural village and the horrific treatment that was permitted by the local RCMP. The trouble makers of this story, were sons of local Politicians and Wealthy, second generation locals. Verbal Abuse, Harrassment, Staulking, Property Damage, Life Endangerment and finally the torture and Death of a 16 yr old Family Pet! Find out how these incidences snow-balled and could have been prevented with RCMP intervention and Law Enforcement. View the return statement from the Local RCMP Police Chief that states Favoritism was not a factor..... |
In our Next Edition: ![]() Misty: Born January 22, 1986.(Mtl.Qc.) Deceased: December 29, 2001.(Champion, Ab) Cause: Intentional Dog Attack Weighing 4 lbs, measuring approx: 10" in diameter in width, received 122 stitches due to skin loss from Dog Saliva, it was much worse than this. Here Misty Girl was in the process of healing, tubes extending from either side of her, fought for Four Months, but lost the battle due to the damage caused to her Kidneys from the infection caused by the Dog Attack. |
QUOTE: "Misty's Favorite Spot on Halloween: Smack in the middle of the Candy Bowls where the Kids would notice her and pat her. She loved the Car. Was my Companion on Contracts and always came when called. "Her loyalty to Elderly and Children were clearly evident and Misty was brought into Retirement Establishments for 3 Years, where she made many friends and brought many smiles. Her passing was sadly on my Grandson's Seventh Birthday, leaving a mark on all of my family, for life. SHE was the most innocent and the most defenceless out of us all. She died for nothing" |
| This sad story, goes needless to say, unjustified and not even a Police Report was made. Why? Because the R.C.M.P. that govern the area, felt it unneccessary! In June-July Edition, find out more about this Grandmother's incredible documented story that lead from one thing to another! The Comment Board should be ready by the next edition for readers to send us comments! |
