Pinkney's PointYarmouth Nova Scotia
is a County combined of several villages, going inland and along the shoreline.
This beautiful county dates back to the mid 1600's, with Heritage in abundance!
During the 1600's and 1700's fishing, water transportation and trade were essential to everyday life. Yarmouth Harbour became one of the largest ports of registry of sailing ships in the world. In the late 1800's, it was the second largest port of registry in Canada. Ship wrecks were common and it was recommended by Colonel Robert Morse in 1874 that a chain of lighthouses should be built along the shores of Nova Scotia from Cape Canso to Cape Sable. Shipwrecks are still visible along the shorelines and were too expensive to dispose of. Today they are tourist attractions that leave their viewers full of anticipation deriving what became of their destiny. When you hear someone say "My Community has been passed down through the generations of our fore-fathers" they must be talking about Yarmouth Nova Scotia.

Update of Geraldton Ontario
Visit Geraldton Ont. A Featured TownApproximately two years ago we did a review on Geraldton Ontario. This quaint forested area, 295 kms from Thunder Bay has a history of survival. It's benefits, lie in the natural resources the area has to offer. Mining and Mills were the natural resources keeping this Town afloat.
The area itself holds potential for further marketing as a Touristic Adventure. Hunting, Fishing and Hide-Aways, only reachable by plane hold breathtaking for those who ponder viewing wolves, moose and other related wildlife.
Our Story comes from a gent who returned to the community in 1999, after having been away for almost 10 years. He was a born native of the area, being part French Canadian as well. His Parents owned a large Tranport Company throughout the area and the last place he ever thought he'd find work in his trade, was back home.
The reason for his return was an employment opportunity at the Mill, that he had viewed through postings at a Poggie Office 3,000 miles away!
For the heck of it, he applied, as he is a Millright by Trade, figuring he had nothing to lose with the attempt.
He was contacted and hired by phone and better yet, his ticket was paid along with his first month's accomodations, so he could see if whether or not he wanted to stay. Well, with treatment like that, who wouldn't want to stay!?
Within the month, he'd found a war-time home worth purchasing and made a deal with the owner. Since that time, he had the home raised and the basement renewed and it is "Home" due to the opportunity and Hospitality that Geraldton and the Mill, offered him. View demographics of the area.....

In today's changing world, Towns like Geraldton are evolving and sound economic growth takes time and planning. Geraldton has participated in programs and research for the betterment of the area's industry and potential, yet quietly in the forests, lakes and surrounding streams, this serene, cultural countryside could bring seasonal recluse for those looking for Nature's Adventures.
